Summer Time in IL PATIO

Summer time had start in Kiev even though the weather is not quite friendly since most of the time is raining and temperature is not quite warm yet but I am really looking forward for this summer. First at this coming June 20 me and my friend is planning to watch Jamiroquai live in Kiev, yeap that famous Jamiroquai will perform in Kiev, for this month Kiev is shake by the performance of 50 cent, Black Eyed Peas and also PVD (Paul Van Dyke in case you did not familiar with his nickname) well so far the clubbers life is quite good in Kiev since the organizer is quite active to bring the full edge entertainment by hiring the troops of best DJ in the world. Well it is quite obvious in here that everyone is trying hard to enjoy their life and in the other hand the sponsor which is normally comes from the FMCG, liquour and beverages and the cigarettes companny is hoping that their product will get higher sales, reaching the niche target market and also the awareness of their brand.

People said it is best to come to Kiev during the summer since you can view the city center was covered by blooming flowers, green trees, and the patio is using by the resto's and coffee shop and the great thing is everything can blend perfectly with the unique and artistic building that surrounding the city of Kiev. The other buzz in the country lately is the world cup fever since the Ukrainian team for the first time had join the world cup final in Germany, but almost all Ukrainian is pretty upset since the team had lost heavily to Spain, well I hope Shevchenko and his team mate can strike better when they had to face Tunisia and Saudi Arabia so they could become the second in the group to advance into the elimination round. If not they had to return to Kiev in this coming 22nd of June and facing the upset supporters.

Last week I visit one of my favourite resto in Kiev which is IL PATIO, they offer italian food in reasonable price with kinda huge portion and I really love the pasta. In the end they also serve the line of good and great wine to satisfy the customer, well if you visit that restaurant the aroma will push your belly to tell your brain to order the menu quickly, the atmosphere is also nice since in the wall they hang lots of classic picture of some cities in Italy and the music of their choice for me is quite cozy. Normally the place is not packed with people since they did not entertain any reservation. Beside IL PATIO we still could find good restaurant which is cozy too, that’s why l love Kiev at most since the blending of the classic style of europe and the modern art deco had been supervised strictly to maintain the atmosphere of the perfection. So now I'm looking forward to enjoy the summer with new adventure and experience and hopefully with lots of new friend. We’ll got to go now my bed is waiting. I left you with some pictures of pasta and steak from IL PATIO.

Sendratari Damarwulan

Well...its been a long time I didn't update my blog. Well this afternoon at last I could seat back and relax for a moment to write something. Let's start with the latest program I've been to which is the Indonesian Cultural Night which held in Kiev its organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Kiev. The main program of the presentation is the drama dance (sendratari) called DAMARWULAN, I am not going to describe the detail of the story since everybody can glance a few moment to search in google. Well at that sendratari I take a part as an antagonist character...well bad guys character lately was one of the fastest way to be famous right...even though I didn't quite like the character I should accept it. It is an obvious burden for myself since I had to practice traditional dancing yeap that’s true a traditional dancing while my schedule is so packed. Luckily my boss is taking his vacation for one month so in the middle of the preparation I could practice 3 hours daily since I have two parts which is concise of a solo dance and a fight dance which is quite hard since I am a novice dancer and it was pretty exhausted. Our trainer is Mr. Soehardi and his wife Mrs. Sumili they specially come to Kiev from The Hague to train us, well Mr. Soehardi is quite patience to train me, I dunno if I was in his position it will gives me a nervous breakdown and headache since he had to train the novice dancer.

That was the worst part now is the good parts which is I can get bakso (meatball) and fresh chili from Nederland which is very delicious, thanx to Mrs. Soemili since she didn't forget to put my name on the list of the bakso recipient. The other good thins was I could meet a lot of Ukrainian people and I can practice my worst Russian language. At least I have someone to practice with. During the cultural night everything goes smoothly as planned even though there are some problems during the preparation and even during the day which cause by some stupid person or lets called them a bastard people but at least the show must go on right. That’s the latest story in my daily life in Kiev. Below is the picture during my performance

Buildings In Kiev now This Days...

Kiev...It's a wonderful city for me...btw this is my first blog update since I arrived in Kiev due to some catastrophic problem to remembering my password...but after an extensive trial and error finally I got my blog on my hand again....

Get back to the topic...one of the most valuable things in Kiev based on my perspective are the buildings surrounding the city. Until this 21st Century the gov't still keep those building in shape even some of the building had been under heavy restoration but the shape and the design remain the same..the only difference is the interior of the building...probably that's one of the reason Kiev had been choose to be the Cultural City of Europe for this coming 2011..thats a good achievement I presume..since it had a possibilities to drive the tourist to visit this city...found out the culture, the building, the culinary experience and none the less the "gal's"...yeap thats true..just like one line of the beatles song said: "ukraine girl u knock my heart" thats a real situation that you had to face everyday in Kiev...not all the gals are goddess likes...but at leat 95% of the gal's is HOT..and fashionable...neah..my point is not about the gals...forget it at least in the mean time...ha..ha.ha...

This is my first post of the buildings, vicinity and the culinary experience in Kiev....

Description of My Favourite Music

What is Jazz

Mix the soul of blues, the harmony of classical music, the rhythmic complexity of African music and the melodic improvisational qualities of Indian music, and you'll get somewhere near what has become one of the truest and most original art forms America has created. Jazz grew out of ragtime and blues music at the beginning of the 20th century, and has continued to develop under the guidance of visionaries such as Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock, influencing classical, rock, and hip-hop music as well as contemporary art and literature. While it started as dance music, jazz has developed many offshoots that are meant to be listened to closely, with intensely intricate improvisations and complex rhythms justified by a natural, inherent swing.

What Is Acid Jazz?

Like a half-sister of hip-hop who is also jazz's cousin, acid jazz sprung up in the late 1980s and made jazz danceable all over again. Under the influence of the stringent jazz-funk and rare grooves of the '70s, artists such as the Brand New Heavies and Groove Collective proved astute performers onstage, while DJs like Greyboy got down in the studio--each generating locked, percussion-laden rhythms and coexisting peacefully with the similarly beat-heavy trip-hop movement.

Notable Artists: Jamiroquai, Greyboy Allstars, Groove Collective

What is Latin

This is a far-reaching genre encompassing Spanish-influenced folk, pop, jazz, and dance music from various regions of primarily Latin America. Early Latin recordings relied heavily on acoustic instrumentation, but by the 1980s musicians began incorporating poppy formulas and electronic technology. Both mariachi and Tejano styles usually stick to classic folk instruments, but some modern artists infuse their recordings with U.S. pop-production techniques. The use of Spanish vocals and chants is one of the chief consistencies binding the genre's many musical variations, but another defining theme is the bold focus on rhythm. Salsa, rhumba, samba, and bossa nova all adhere to distinct rhythms.
